If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know that I love quilt along. It is one of those things that keeps me excited and it is just a good amount of motivation and accountability.

Since it is already nearing the end of 2022,  I am listing out some of the fun quilt along that potentially I’ll be joining in for next year! I love to plan out for the new year.

I would love to invite you along with me!

Sewcialites QAL

This one is an ongoing quilt along. It is FREE and the Facebook group is active and very inspiring. I can’t wait to continue along this QAL into the new year.

Started on time, but I still have blocks to catch up. I posted about it earlier in this post HERE>

Here’s my latest block for the Sewcialites QAL:

Star quilt block

Barn Star Sampler

This one is starting on January 27 with Fat Quarter Shop and I am ready with my selection of fabrics.

I am finally going through my Anna Maria Horner’s stash and I think it’ll be the perfect bundle to make this fun star quilt!

You can pick up your book HERE on Amazon or

at Fat Quarter Shop.

They sold out so many times already! It is such a great book

Barn Star Sampler Quilt Along

2023 Charity Quilt – Bountiful QAL

Fat Quarter shop does a charity quilt along every year, and next year will be the Bountiful QAL.

You can grab the QUILT KIT here, or start picking fabrics from your stash.

The patterns will be FREE but it is encouraged that we donate as we download the free pattern to the charity they are collecting for : The Make-A-Wish foundation

I am joining along with my own stash but the keep sake box that comes with the quilt kit is so tempting!

Sunny Patch QAL

Corry Yoder is one of my favourite fabric designers and she had an amazing QAL in the last few years, and in 2023, she’ll be hosting the Sunny Patch QAL.

I love the layout that she shared over on her blog here, come check it out and grab the free fabric requirement for the QAL in that post.

I haven’t picked my fabric just yet for that, but it is one on my radar to join along for 2023.

A Quilting Life Block of The Month 2023

Another fun designer to follow is Sherri from A Quilting Life. She does a block of the month for the whole year for several years already. They are free blocks available on her blog.

I love her 2022 BOM, but I wasn’t able to join along and I’m hoping I can join for the 2023 BOM.

You can find out more about that HERE on her blog

Riley Blake 2023 Quilt Challenge

I joined this RBD Quilt Block Challenge this year and I made one of my favourite quilt of the year! You can check that finished quilt HERE>

If I could spare more time this coming year, I would love to join again! Riley Blake Design is bringing the Block Challenge QAL again for 2023. You can find more about that HERE on their blogpost together with the fabric requirements.

I haven’t decided what fabrics I’ll be using, but a solid bundle would be quite fun to work with this time. We’ll see.

Stars Upon Stars Quilt Along – Edyta Sitar

I love Edyta Sitar’s stunning quilts, and this March 15th 2023, Edyta Sitar is hosting the quilt along for this beautiful quilt!

The pattern for Stars Upon Stars can be found in the book: Patches of Stars or can be bought individually HERE>

This is a stunning quilt but surely a lot of piecing! I have this on my quilt wish list to make and definitely am tempted to join along!

You can find all the details for the quilt along HERE on Edyta’s Blog.

American Patchwork and Quilting Scrappy Celebration Quilt Along

Another fun scrappy quilt along. Raid you scrappy stash and make this stunning fun quilt.

The pattern can be found in the April 2023 Issue of American Patchwork and Quilting.

Well, I guess that is it so far, I will inform you if there are anymore I’m joining along or you can also chime in below if you found any other fun quilt along that we can join in.

Are you putting any of these on your list for 2023 too?

7 Comments on List of 2023 Quilt Along

  1. I have been enjoying your post since “meeting” you thru passport to quilting. Your Merdeka quilt is lovely. Like you I have a love for sampler quilts, my downfall is I begin strong and then but a project aside to begin another. Needless to say i have many bins of UFO’s to choose from. Happy sewing and enjoy your family holiday.

  2. I have collected the patterns for the Sewcialites 2. I did all the blocks for the first one but haven’t decided how I am going to put it together yet. Not sure about the others yet. I might decide to do Corry Yoder’s.

  3. I also love all the quilt alongs but sometimes I fall way behind. I love the fact you can find the info to continue when you get behind. I love your emails. I will not be doing the Stars Upon Stars I have too many other ones started and like you said thats a lot of piecing. Thank You
