Hi!
Thanks for stopping by.
Firstly I am sorry I have been really slow with sewing lately.
I have a reason for that.
We are moving house. It wasn’t really planned, so I have a lot of work to do packing up things in a week!
PAcking to move house
And then, I realised, it was too late too to cancel my turn or to delay my turn of bloghop for Dare to Dresden. So I might as well turn up…
So I just have very little show for you..please don’t be mad.. 🙁
We have Madame Samm and Christine as a great cheerleader this round!
I made this a while back..but still …I haven’t decide how to applique the dresden plate to the background fabric yet. Maybe I’ll try machine applique with fancy stitches or blanket stitch.
Lone Block
I only had enough left over jelly roll strips for two blocks.
So, I think I’ll turn them into pillows to match with my “I Heart Quilt” recently made…
Dresden Plate Pillows
What would you do if you only had two blocks?
I am too muddled up that I didn’t have time to plan them well.
Anyway, today I am sharing this fabulous bloghop with these lovely people! Come and visit them!

Thank you again to Madame Samm for another wonderful bloghop.. I am regretting to miss a bit on this bloghop as I have very tiny time spend browsing around. I do hope I’ll get time to do that as soon as we set up the internet at our new home though…
XOXO,

  1. Amira. Beautiful blocks and they will be lovely pillows. Don’t worry about not finishing them. Life happens unexpectedly and we have to roll along! I understand having to move in a hurry (it’s happened a few times in my long married life – 35 years!) You do what you have to do and soon you will have your sewing room set up and will be stitching again. Thanks for sharing today. Blessings on you and your family as you move!

My dear Amira, these are adorable. I love the colors.
You have a lot of possibilities for these cuties.
Yes, indeed you could frame them, or you could make them into a little centerpiece for your table, or — well, perhaps at your new house you will be inspired by some new feature in the house! I hope you have a successful move to a great new house. I will be thinking about you and your hubby and cute little boy!
Thank you for scrambling something together to share. You have so much to offer.

  13. I think pillows would be a lovely compliment to your quilt, they’re both charming. Once you get through your move and resettle, then think about what to do with your dresden blocks. They’ll keep 😉

  19. Pillows are a good option when you’ve got only two dresdens. Or I’ve been seeing the gorgeous dresden clocks around the hop lately, too! Gorgeous colors, and good job. Good luck with the move! I hope you have time to breathe a little after you’re done. 🙂

  21. Aww. your dresden is great. We understand you would have liked to do more, but believe me we understand when things happen. I personally would love to start hopping, but I’m just starting out (and a little shy) and I’m in my junior year at penn state. Time is at a premium and funds are tight. If you border them you could put each one at the end of a table runner. if your into something bigger, you could use them as focal point in a lap quilt or larger and make log cabinish sections for the rest.

  23. your dresdens are lovely, Bonnie and Camilla fabric seems perfect for this block. They go so well with your quilt, I think you should make them into cushions.

  33. Pillows are a great choice. You could make a two block wall hanging for your new home. I don’t know if you use table runners. You could make two – one block table runners or one, two block table runner from it. You could make another block with coordinating colors and add to it for another block and add to it for a third block. My quilt guild sells small quilts at its quilt show every other year and some of them are very small – smaller than your block. Folks bind them and I guess people hang them on their wall or use them on tables. I admire you for jumping in and participating in the blog hop while in the middle of a move. Thank you for the commitment to the hop. Your work is amazing and thank you for participating and inspiring us. I love each block and they will be amazing however you decide to use them.

  35. Lovely little dresdens, and I can’t believe how much extra the addition of the buttons makes. I think pillows will go well with your quilt, but you could save them until you have time to make more for a small lap quilt.

  39. With only 2 blocks I would probably make a table runner, by adding a third plain block…you could then quilt the outline of a dresden block in the plain block. I think that would be a great runner.
