Another fun quilt-a-long has just started! This time it is the mystery Christmas Quilt-A-Long which usually runs in July. This is a free pattern by Fat Quarter Shop and will be released each week together with a video tutorial.

This year, the mystery quilt is called the Christmas Time Quilt-a-Long!

Now, I don’t celebrate Christmas but I do love the season. With all the glitters and decorations, it is always magical. And I love the joyful colours of Christmassy fabrics.

Christmas Fabric Quilt

I made last year’s Mystery quilt in Winter Colours which you can check out HERE>

I love that quilt. It was a fun small quilt and just the perfect one to try different blocks and practice piecing.

This year I decided to make mine using SweetWater Snowkissed Collection. The little houses is my favourite from this collection!

But I also love those snow caps and ginghams! This collection is cute!

Prepping by Starching

I prepped the fabric with my homemade starch. These fabric is sprayed evenly and soaking wet and left it to dry overnight.

I talked about how I starch in detail and the recipe I use for my Homemade Starch in this post HERE>

Isn’t it cute! I love mugs. This would be perfect for a future mug rug too.

Or a quilt with various prints for the mugs.

Well, for this Mystery quilt, we will only need to make one mug. It was fun to make.

How about you? Are you joining along this year’s Mystery Quilt-a-Long?
