NOTE : I no longer promote Craftsy/Bluprint as I used to due to the way the subscription is currently being carried out. I had the issue of cancelling my subscription when the company changed hand and I find that cancelling through calls is inconvenient. However, I do still stand behind these classes I promote and if you are subscribed, you can surely check these classes I recommend on the platform. If you are looking for another online platform to learn craft such as quilting, do check out CreativeBug. It is much cheaper in subscription (subscribe now 3 months for only $5). Thank you.
Welcome to another “Three of 3 on A Tuesday”. I will have THREE things or links of 3 topics for you to visit/read every Tuesday to either showcase tutorials, inspirations, random daily thoughts or it could be any fabric/notion sales running that particular week. So for today, here are the THREE of 3 things:
There are affiliate links within this post, in which I may earn a small commission if you take action. Please find my full disclosure here.
3 Hexagon Projects
- Hexagon placemats from TLMC archives. I love these placemats. I should make some for myself. I probably have said that a hundred time, maybe it is time very soon. I have made a tutorial for that hexagon placemat and it is one of the most liked posts here on TLMC.
- This project using used denim is a superb Idea. I want to make it someday. But, I’ll surely do a little quilting and put in some pop of colors to the denim.
- English Paper Pieced Hexagons your scraps and put it together like this quilt! I just love the scrappiness and how fun it looks! I’d be spending some petting and I think it’ll be one great “I spy quilt”. Like a 1000 pieces jigsaw kind of I spy. You get what I mean right?
On the side note, remember to check out the various size hexagon EPP printables in TLMC resource library.
3 Fabric Bundles I am loving:
- Fussy cut perfect they say – these bundles are absolutely great for any type of EPP projects.
- Neutrals. Can I really pull an all neutral-color quilt? I love colors too much, but sometimes, I wonder will I ever challenge myself to make an all neutral-color quilt. Have you? Last time I check, these bundles were 40% off.
- Did you know, among my first purchase of fabrics when I started this quilting journey was a bundle of blue batiks? Yup, I made it into an Irish Chain Quilt here. They turned out great with a watercolor effect. Lately, I have been rethinking to start collecting batiks fabric. And I want to experiment mixing them with non-batiks like Edyta Sitar. This bundle of batiks got me swooning on the possibility. What do you think?
3 things I am working on this week
- I made the first block for the Community Sampler & for the Foot Hill Quilt! I can’t wait to let you in with the fun I’ve had making my first block. I’ll write about that soon.
- I am joining many others in the festival of quilters over on Instagram with hashtag #igquiltfest. Follow me on Instagram here.
- Another log cabin project based on my scrappy heart pillow pattern.
How about you? What are you up to this week?
Hopefully snow is uncovering and spring is coming soon! We are in the mids of a hot, non rainy weeks.

I have collected batiks for my daughter who has always loved them. I always pick up a fat quarter or two for her at the shops I visit. I now am really drawn to them too! lol Also loving the idea of a neutral quilt – I am sure you could pull it off! Have a great day!
Hi Lee. Batiks seems like a great idea isn’t… I am more oriented to printed fabrics, so I think combining them would be a great experiment. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. Have a great day too!
Thanks for linking my quilt 🙂
It is my pleasure, Stephanie. Thanks for the inspiration
