I love this community. We hold each other’s hand and cheer on each other to keep going and being creative.

While I am still trying to catch up with my UFO list which I plan to move along this year 2018, I find myself too long on this one project.

But I am happy to say, it is going on top of the to-be-finished-soon pile. Hence, I am putting it on my quarter 2 finish-along pile.

1. Double Wedding Ring Quilt

I quilted a lot of rings in January as a part of my UFO list Challenge. Then January passed and I got bored. They were so many rings.

And I could only manage to quilt one ring or half ring at one sitting.

I stalled for about a month before coming back to it, little by little.

Today as I write this, there are only 6 rings left. Finally. The number of rings yet to be quilted are finally reducing. At one point I was keeping count at it seems like it never reduces. It kept coming back at 15 more rings to quilt!

It’s a marathon.

One thing that got me back to it this month is that I have to remember to be mindful about the process. Enjoying the process rather than just wanting to get it finished.

I realized that in January I wanted it done -hence I got bored pretty quickly and frustrated by the numbers that didn’t reduce.

I do love free motion quilting.

And I do enjoy quilting this double wedding ring quilt.

When that mindset was on, the progress went on so much better.

I am going to make it to the finish line, and I am going to miss the process. I am glad I recorded most of the process of making this quilt here on the blog and on Instagram.

Here are some of the progress post:

I already got my binding fabrics. Need to cut them on bias, and get that ready before the quilt is ready to be bound.

I am going to make a  countdown with the final 3 rings on Instagram. Come cheer me on there! I’d love some support.

2. Sewcial Bee Sampler Quilts.

The second one I am putting on the FAL list is my Sewcial Bee Sampler Quilts.

Both of them now are waiting to be pieced together and bound.

All 25 blocks of Quilt 1 is quilted. It is like a free motion quiltif sampler from the back.

All 25 blocks with custom free motion quilting are also done. Lots of feathers and playing around with various motifs.

And, just to make sure I put this on the blog to archive it:  Here are the videos I posted on my instagram the other day when all of the blocks were quilted!

These were also recorded well in the blog with detail discussion including tutorials in most of the posts. Click below to go the archives.

How to Quilt As You Go A Sampler Quilt

I do love this project. It has been a lot of fun.

The quilting stage is finished – all blocks are quilted. There are a couple more to be blogged, but those are all ready and scheduled. So, look out for that.

I am going to piece the blocks together with sashings and put up a tutorial on how to do that too. Thank you for cheering me on with that project.

That is enough for the FAL of quarter 2 2018.

I am not going to be too ambitious. Having 3 quilts to finish in one quarter is already a lot.

I am going to try and squeeze in little projects in as I usually do and probably even start quilting another UFO. UFO no 3 on this list. I figure that is another scary yet a fun adventure.

well, how about you?

Which projects are you going to finish up this quarter?
