Are you looking for an easy gift to sew?
Well, I have a fun quick project that will be the cutest gift to make for Quilty friends or even for anyone really. The bucket can be so versatile for a lot of use.
I am actually making these to gift to my son’s teacher as a farewell gift. We are planning to fill it in with teacher’s items like pens, notebooks and other fun things.
Little Snippet Thread Catcher
The pattern is the Little Snippet Thread Catcher form the Quilt Bee Book.
I have mentioned this book a couple of times before, HERE and HERE, and I am not done with it. I love a lot of the projects in this book!
I used the fabric collection named Forget Me Not by Alison Harris which you can check out HERE>
The fabric calls for spring and I just love how the bright colours comes together into this cute little bucket.
Just look at those texts with Spring Flowers, Seed texts. Perfect for spring!
It came together pretty quick and would have been quicker if you opt out the patchwork panels. Each of the bucket took me about 1.5 hours to complete the project from start to finish.
It was very satisfying to end up with these cute ready to use bucket.
For these ones, I made one patchwork panel instead of two as the pattern calls for, and made a little change to the patchwork block too. You can even use orphan blocks that you may have around.
The bucket has two side pockets which you can easily use to fill in little tools.
I am gifting both of these, and am off to make 3 or 4 more to gift out and one to keep.
It was a lot of fun using the different prints together. Plaid is always perfect for binding! Wouldn’t you agree?
If you are quite advance, you may guess how it was made but I was surely lazy to figure things out, and just followed the pattern.
If you have the Quilt Bee Book, and maybe you have been wanting to make this, I highly recommend it.
The pattern is the Little Snippet Thread Catcher form the Quilt Bee Book. If you haven’t got the book yet, it is currently on sale for 30% off! So come check it out HERE>
The centre bucket fits some of the smaller pattern perfectly. I have the Jelly Roll rug and The Starry Checker pattern in the photos above.
You can check out my Jelly Roll Rug HERE>
I can see it fits a lot of various things and you can make it to fill suitable items for the one you’re gifting too.
So, I am definitely keeping this pattern in mind when I’m thinking about what gift to sew next time.
Well, I am now off to make some more and procrastinating on finishing the quilt.
Haha. I promise, I will have more quilt progress the next time I post here.
In the meantime, you may want to pin this to your Pinterest board.

This is cute idea for a teacher. Might use this for my granddaughter’s teacher at the end of our school year.
This is really cute. I think I’ll make one to keep alongside my sewing machine, filled with the things I like to have handy while I sew – snippers, fabric marking pens, a small ruler, a few tissues (I have allergies), extra bobbins, spools of the threads I’m using at the time, and anything else that would be good to have at my fingertips,
I’m always misplacing little things such as those and this would save me from getting frustrated looking for them!!
