It’s a wrap with the mystery Christmas Quilt-A-Long! This is a free Christmas quilt pattern by Fat Quarter Shop and were released together with a video tutorial.
We wrapped it up this week, and finished the quilt. I love the lovely little quilt.
I quilted mine with a loopy loop figure 8’s.
When doing this free motion, it is good to put in mind that it is not going to be perfect, but it is going to turn out fine!

I chose one of the gingham from the Sweet Water Snowkissed collection to bind the quilt. I love the gingham in this collection.
The backing is one of the house’s print, there’s so many cute print form this collection, it was hard to choose the backing!
But I’m happy with this one for sure.
The cute snowing dots and the little houses are so cute!
This quilt is perfect as a wall hanging and can easily be a decor for the holiday season.
Little quilts like this are fun to make, easy to finish, and can easily be hung up as decor pieces.
Usually, I just drape them over surfaces like on top of drawers, side tables, and sofa.

Finally, I got this Scrappy Pouch using the quilt as you go method tutorial up! It was highly requested on my Instagram and I just had to do get myself to record and edit it.
This is the perfect project to make with coordinated scraps you have leftover from a quilt project.
Of course, you can use any scraps, but I do believe using coordinated scraps makes prettier pouches!
And if you ever made quilts using Tula Pink fabrics, you are surely to get bright pretty pouches. I absolutely love seeing the peek of fun motifs on my panels.
I made many different panels and there are so many ways you can make a quilt as you go panel. In this tutorial I’ll teach 4 ways, but I’ll be sure to make more tutorials for more in the future.

We can’t go without boxes of presents for the Holiday right?
And stacks presents are the cutest with a bow on top.
I love this week’s block but I do wish I had chosen a darker Red fabric for the centre box.
O well, I don’t want to rip it out, so we’ll stick with it.
We are almost at the end of the quilt-a-long.You still have a chance to catch up, and this is such an adorable little quilt that will cheer up your home decor for the holiday.
As for you who asked, Do we celebrate Halloween or Christmas here in Malaysia?
Well the answer is: not really. Especially Halloween. We don’t have that Holiday and we do have one day of Christmas Holiday. But we have lots of other holidays that we celebrate here and we’re blessed to have those too.
Shopping malls do have some Christmas decoration but it is not as festive as in the UK or Australia where I’ve been before.
I love that this season of holiday is a reminder of giving. And gifting handmade things that you’ve made throughout the year or things you’ve collected and bought during this time is such a great idea.

This week we have the classic cards. I am not sure how often you get cards these days, but I can say we have less of them coming our way.
But I do love it when we do receive physical cards!

For those who want to start English Paper Piecing, this post will have all the guide for you. It will be linked to all the tutorials and the fun English Paper Piecing patterns.
English paper piecing (EPP) is another wonderful technique for making patchwork quilts. Piecing together fabrics using a paper template. The technique is mainly hand-stitched but there are some ways you can piece the pieces together with a machine too.
In general, these templates are basted with the fabric to form the shape of the fabric pieces before piecing the pieces together. This technique allows an easier and more accurate way to piece together various shapes of fabrics.
One of the popular EPP patterns is the Hexagon flower.
You can make these popular beautiful hexagon flowers and make bigger ones simply by adding more rounds.
And the shapes are not only limited to hexagons. You can see more patterns at the end of this post with more variation of EPP.

Paper piecing technique is another technique often used in making patchwork quilts. Though the term may seem similar. It is totally a different technique. Paper piecing technique or may also be known as foundation paper piecing (FPP) is similar in terms of using paper as a template but it is done differently.

Yes! Unless you use one of the wash-away fusible as the templates. But, since we’re talking about papers here – then the answer is YES. We do have to remove the paper at the end of the process.
Make sure the paper is only removed once all the sides that need to be stitched to another piece are completed. If you remove it too early, it will be difficult to sew the pieces together.
There are many ways to make or buy templates. But in simple terms, just cut the papers into shape. You can find how to cut EPP templates efficiently in this post HERE>.

Anytime is a great time for candy!
I made two candy wrappers with the fun snow cap fabric and the tiny zig zag aqua.
You can choose to make all of them with different fabrics, but I made mine accordingly with the pattern, I make two in green and another two in the tiny zig zag aqua.
Aww it’s sewwww cute!
You can easily make a long middle part to make Christmas Crackers! A row of crackers would be a fun table runner.
